Academic Innovation

Will to Advance

We believe that the best education pushes limits: we can always work harder, go further and know more. Our drive to innovate underlies all of our work—indeed, it’s the Jesuit way to seek out opportunities to advance. With Gonzaga Will, we not only keep pace—we set the pace.

Since our founding in 1887, Gonzaga has been a change agent, adding schools, programs and services to meet the needs of an evolving student body and community. Now, as new industries and inventions blossom seemingly overnight, we pledge to stride ahead.

Today's job market bears little resemblance to that of decades past. We look carefully at which fields are on the rise, so we can ensure our students have access to the most up-to-date programs and tools. As they gain hands-on experience and practice groundbreaking research, they're prepared to lead and influence the communities they join: work, service, faith and family.

Double the operating budget for each School and College, allowing Deans to respond to immediate needs and fuel innovation.

Provide opportunities for at least 40 percent of undergraduates to engage in research and 80 percent in experiential learning.

Financial Goal

$12 Million

Raised to Date $29.1 Million
Left to Raise $0 Million

More than 55 percent of incoming GU freshmen plan to major in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics. We must respond to this reality—but expanding curricula, hiring faculty, and equipping researchers requires funding. Your support gives our scholars the up-to-date education they deserve, producing the ethical thinkers the world needs most.

Your investment will shape our students and the future.

Creativity & Entrepreneurship

Gonzaga has a long history of graduating can-do innovators—people who improve our daily lives and tackle long-term issues. This kind of entrepreneurial thinking takes creativity, risk-taking and practice. Our goal is to help students hone their unique perspectives and powers, in everything from teaching to business planning, so they can use them for the greater good.

To advance quickly, we need partnership now.

Jesuit Teaching for the 21st Century

Gonzaga’s Jesuit foundation never wavers. It is who we are, what we stand for, and how we educate: with faith and humanism, through service and community. We declare our intention to stay strong in these values by retaining and attracting exemplary faculty scholars and Jesuits to inspire our campus community. This initiative will support faculty innovation in teaching, interdisciplinary course offerings around the big issues of the contemporary world, enhancing our already strong Ignatian heritage.

A great Jesuit education is fueled by great faculty. This requires financial support.
